2021 HYC

ART EXHIBIT

We are so excited to include a student art exhibit this year at the conference and look forward to seeing the creativity of this generation! Please read the rules below!

PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED IN EACH CATEGORY!

Rules for Entry

  • Students may submit 1 piece of original work for each category. Submission may use any of the art forms listed below.

  • Student must be in 6th - 12th grade and be registered as a conference attendee.

  • All artwork must be the original work of the registered student, follow the art work guidelines, and be approved by the HYC exhibit coordinator to be shown in the gallery at the conference.

  • Students must be registered for the art exhibit by NOVEMBER 3RD.

  • A proof of your final artwork, for content approval, must be emailed to Bronwyn at artstable.co@gmail.com by NOVEMBER 4TH.

Artwork GUIDELINES

ALL ARTWORK MUST ADHERE BY THESE GUIDELINES TO BE SHOWN IN THE EXHIBIT.

  • All pieces should uphold positive themes and content. HYC reserves the right to not display any artwork that we feel or deem as inappropriate.

  • All artwork must be the original work of the registered student.

Art FORMs

3D: Sculptures made of clay, wood, plaster, metal, or synthetic materials. To submit for content approval, please email a 360 video sent along with the final dimensions of the piece.  

Digital Art: Digital illustrations created on digital art programs (Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, Paintstorm Studio). Digital pieces must be printed for display by the artist. To submit for content approval, please email a picture along with the final printed dimensions of the piece.

Dry Medium: Drawings created with charcoal, graphite, chalks, or pastels. To submit for content approval, please email a picture of the drawing along with the final dimensions of the piece.

Painting: Painting created with acrylic, watercolor, oil, gouache, or ink. To submit for content approval, please email a picture of the painting along with the final dimensions of the piece.

Other: This could include textile arts such as needle point or crocheting. When registering, please state what you will be using to create your art. To submit for content approval, please email a picture (flat lay art) or a video (3D) of the piece along with the final dimensions of the piece.

SUBMISSION Categories

WORD: Artwork in this category must express or contain the word SOURCE.

RANDOM OBJECTS: Artwork in this category must include: an item of food, the color orange, and a living creature. All three subjects must be present in the work to qualify for this category.

REALISM: Realism is an art style that focuses on making pieces look as realistic and true-to-life as possible (think of realistic portraits, landscapes, and still life paintings). Artwork in this category can be any subject matter of the artists choosing but must adhere to the artwork guidelines above.
